Christchurch has been rocked to it's core harder and longer than ever before yesterday with a Magnitude 6.3 earthquake striking Lyttleton and Christchurch areas as people were relaxing at lunch at 12:38pm.
Christchurch was a city getting back on it's feet again after the earlier earthquake on September 4 last year. So far, there have been 75 confirmed deaths with bodies being left where they are found to give rescuers time to retrieve those who are still alive in the rubble. New Zealand expects a much larger toll for this in the coming days and weeks. These are 75 mothers, daughters, sons and fathers they all had family and each and everyone was loved darely. It all seems so unreal to be witnessing this within our own sunny shores of New Zealand tucked away in the bottom corner of the world not bothering anyone, but yesterday was our day of trial and tribulation. The next coming days and weeks and New Zealand's time to shine. To show your neighbor, friend or stranger that kiwi hospitality. That kiwi generosity where we all come together.
Downtown Christchurch looks more like a clumsy giants playground rather than a hustling, bustling business central that it is. Rescue workers are painstakingly working hard through the night to try and retrieve survivors from all over the city.
Our hearts and thoughts are will all of those out there. Friends, Friends of friends who have been affected.
